Scottish Seed Potato Register moves online

SASA has just launched its latest online service to customers of Scottish Seed Potatoes. The new initiative has created a fully interactive searchable register where Scottish seed potato crops are listed by classes, sub-divided by variety and geographic location. This proactive publication of crop data held by government is intended as a tool for businesses and to promote Scottish crops to potential customers at home and worldwide.  

The register has multiple search options available to allow users to quickly find the crop details they need and the service also includes a complete searchable list of Scottish seed potato growers and production statistics for all the varieties grown in Scotland.  

The service is being rolled out as the first stage of the MySpuds project. This project undertaken by the Scottish Government in conjunction with industry aims to give Scottish Potato growers direct access to the SASA database holding their information.   Details on the register can be found at:
