FUTURES analysis –
Pure speculation or just blue sky, whatever your view it helps to think ahead! This workshop will explore using futures tools to address food security issues in Scotland. It will be held on 10 November 2010. The purpose of this will be to learn more about a range of ‘futures’ tools and techniques that can be used to explore areas of interest to CAMERAS partners. During this workshop delegates will apply these tools, in a learning environment, to the issue of food futures and food security. Outcomes of the workshop will be: greater understanding of food security future issues for Scotland, as well as familiarity with tools available for futures thinking and their applicability to futures analysis work. Ultimately this should provide information to inform future research needs and recommendations for CAMERAS in terms of using a futures approach. For more information contact email@example.com .
Molecular biology and genomics
There is growing interest in using molecular biology and omics technologies for environmental monitoring, assessment and regulation. CAMERAS is organising a workshop that will be held at the SASA towards the end of this year. The workshop will help to provide a common level of understanding of the science and its current applications in Scotland, explore investment opportunities, and identify ways in which Scotland’s resources and expertise could be used (via a shared services approach) to address future capability and capacity needs.
