THE CO-ORDINATED AGENDA FOR MARINE, ENVIRONMENT AND RURAL AFFAIRS SCIENCE
CAMERAS is a partnership initiative with an aim to further align and coordinate the scientific activity of the partner organisations to ensure that:
• their science supports the delivery Government’s single purpose
• they make best use of existing resource
• they provide enhanced support to Scottish Government policy development and delivery
Why do we need it?
Scotland requires robust science to support high performing rural, environmental technology and marine sectors.
These include forestry, agriculture, aquaculture, fishing, sporting enterprises, renewable energy and associated processing and manufacturing industries.
What do we need to do?
Scotland has a high quality environmental, rural and marine science resource, spread across many disciplines, delivered by numerous organisations.
This requires co-ordination to ensure that the science resource addresses government policies and priorities and that it is delivered efficiently and effectively.
How will we do it?
CAMERAS will develop co-operation and partnership working amongst its members and other key partners, facilitation closer working relationships with organisations which have an interest in the activities that CAMERAS undertakes but who are outwith the Cameras core membership for example local authorities and national park authorities.
